It belongs to MAC's permanent range of lipsticks and comes in a classic black and silver packaging with a click close top. Like all MAC lipsticks, it has a slight vanilla fragrance to it.
All Nyx Matte Lipstick Swatches
MAC Diva is a warm toned, kind of muted deep red shade. It's the red sibling of burgundy, not exactly burgundy. This is exactly what I would call a perfect Vampy shade of a lipstick. This looks super sexy with LBD and or any other black attire. It's also much loved as a bridal red shade in India.
Though its described as a matte lipstick, for me this falls more under the category of a creamy-matte lipstick. It gives a matte finish but not so super matte. It does not exactly dry out my lips because its creamy and glides on perfectly to the lips without tugging. Immediately after applying, it doesn't really look matte however after a while it sets into a matte finish.
Pigmentation wise, it does not go super opaque in a single swipe. It takes about 3-4 swipes for me to get the desired opaqueness. Staying power is approximately 6-7 hours without meals and around 5 hours with meals. It does transfer a little on objects. After taking it off, it leaves a reddish stain behind on the lips which I guess looks pretty cute.

2. Limited availability of MAC. It is only available at MAC stores which are located in 3-4 cities in India.

1. It's one of those reds which will go perfectly on any occasion.
2. Colours of lipsticks may give a little different look on different skin tones, so unless you are really ready to experiment, always swatch the tester of a lipstick on your skin before purchasing it.

Here's my favourite MAC lipstick of all time: Mehr.
It came out in 2011, as part of the Mickey Contractor collection and it's described as a dirty blue pink. Mickey Contractor is a Bollywood makeup artist, which means that he works on the stars in Indian cinema.
I still remember bring the lipstick with me to a party, and when I got asked what colour it was, I had to pull it out. Free text program for mac. My friend, who is also Indian and has a huge love for Bollywood, almost started crying when she saw the name of the lipstick because that's how much it meant to her to be represented in the beauty world. She finally felt seen. Best format for mac and pc.
It does mean something when a makeup brand you've shopped at since you were little works with someone who gets your skin tone. Mickey Contractor had also come out with an orange and yellow corrector that you could use on different parts of your face, which was kind of a big deal too. The brand didn't have anything like it at the time.
Anyway, Mehr was made part of the permanent collection when they expanded their matte lipsticks and now we don't have to hoard it anymore.
